Costas Christ Is An Award-Winning Travel Writer And Editor At Large For National Geographic Traveler.  He Was The Global Travel Editor And World Class Columnist For National Geographic Adventure From 2005-2009.  In Addition, Costas’ Articles Have Appeared In Numerous Publications, Icluding The New York Times, Boston Globe, International Herald Tribune, And Sunday Times Of London.  He Serves As The Chairman Of The World Travel And Tourism Council – Tourism For Tomorrow Awards, Which Recognizes Leading Models In Sustainable Tourism That Are Helping To Protect The Natural And Cultural Heritage Of Our Planet. He Is A Special Advisor To Wtm Responsible Tourism Day And Also Writes A Travel Column For Virtuoso Life Magazine – The Largest Circulation Travel Agent Publication.  He Is The Lead Author Of Tourism And Biodiversity: Mapping Tourism’s Global Footprint, And A Contributing Author In Wilderness: Earth’s Last Wild Places.  He Has Appeared Frequently On Television And Radio, Including Travel Channel, Nbc Today Show, Good Morning America, Cbb, Bbc, Pbs, And National Public Radio, Among Others.  He Is An Internationally Recognized Sustainable Tourism Expert Whose Work And Travels Have Taken Him To More Than 100 Countries Across Six Continents, And Whose Professional Career In Travel Spans More Than Three Decades. He Is One Of The Pioneers Of Ecotourism, Serving Both As A Founding Member And Former Chairman Of The Board Of The International Ecotourism Society. As Senior Director At Conservation International, Costas Supervised Ecotourism Projects In Africa, Asia, And The Americas Supporting The Protection Of Cultural And Natural Heritage. He Is An Adviser To Travel Philanthropy Organizations, Including Serving As Ambassador-At-Large For The Spirit Of Big Five Foundation, As A Board Member Of The Bodhi Tree Foundation, And As A Project Advisor To The Leading Travel Companies Conservation Foundation . He Is A Keynote Speaker At Many Travel Conferences And Events, Including Three Annual National Geographic Adventure Speaking Tours From 2006-2009,  To Advocate For A New Vision Of Tourism That Embraces Care For Our Planet, Respects Cultural Diversity, And Directly Supports Local People’s Livelihoods.
